01.12.2011 Birthday gift to myself!

This is the skirt I made for my birthday! The fabric is recycled and cost around 2€. And the making process, well, I must admit I lost my patience once or twice... The result is far from perfect (I can imagine what my old teacher would say if he could see this, haha...) and for example I have no idea what I was thinking when I chose the brown thread, but still, after all, I'm quite satisfied, because this was my first attempt of making a skirt without any instructions or patterns or people telling me what to do! So, I congratulate myself.

Oooooh, brown boots! Got these as a gift from a friend, or actually they were too small for her, and now they are miiiiiine and they are so prettyyyyyyyy! And she told me they cost only 0,05€, wow!

Snow made me so happy!

20.12.2011 Oh no, I broke a mug!

Oh no, I broke my sister's mug! I liked it so much that I seriously couldn't just throw it away. Luckily I remembered that my sister didn't have this thingy (what is it called?) to put under the teapot! And I decided to make her one. I bought that wooden thingy from a recycling center and it cost 1,50€.

P.S.

Neighbours must have been excited about the noise I made when I smashed the mug (or what was left of it) with a wine bottle... Haha.

19.12.2011 Owl cushions !

 

My sister wanted me to make her two owl cushions and this is what I came up with! Fabrics for the blue one are mostly from Eurokangas and for the brown one everything is recycled (old skirt, curtains etc.). I was quite pleased with the result and actually it was a bit hard for me to give them up (for adoption)... Already started to think them as my little babieeeees!

I had been wanting to try this for a long time and now I finally did! I made this as a gift for my sister. Looks nice and feels nice, could do one for myself too!

Ooh, it's so cute and I love that shade of green! And I just love to get real mail, really made my day. Thank you, my dear friend.

By the way, what's the new thing with the little suitcases? I used  to have "The Muppet Show" suitcase as a medicine box, and a bit after that I started to see cute little suitcases everywhere! They are way too cute!

One day, when I'll have my own flat again (and some money), I would also like to get real, old suitcases and store all my fabrics in them. I saw this idea in some decor blog and it looked soooo cool.

 It was such a busy night and I totally forgot to take a proper outfit photo! That's a real pity because the theme colours were orange and green and I had such a nice outfit! And a skirt I made as a birthday gift to myself! But anyway, it was a fun night, thanks everyone who was celebrating with me!
