HAI boots: early birthday gift from my grandparents

WOW!!! I've been wanting these ever since they made a comeback! I used to love to watch my mom's old class pictures from the 70's, because they all had HAI boots! She even told me that they called them "Haitsut". So cute!

Well, I never had enough money to buy me one of those, cause they are so super expensive. One evening when I had walked to my grandparents' in the rain (and of course my shoes and socks were soaking wet), my grandma started lecturing me about why I didn't wear rubber boots. I tried to explain that I've been planning on buying ones...

Well the next day she called me and said "Well, we are at the shoe shop right now, what kind of rubber boots would you like to have?". Oh nooo! I really didn't feel like I deserved any gifts... Been feeling so miserable and thinking that I-don't-really-deserve-anything-good-from-anyone.

We had a long argument but my grandma was too determined. She promised me that it would be an early birthday gift and that they really really wouldn't give me anything else on my birthday (I'm having some problems with receiving gifts because at the moment I really feel like I don't deserve anything...). And then I had to tell her that I've been wanting those HAI boots for years now. Yes, yes, orange or yellow ones. 

Few moments later the doorbell rang and there they were. My loved-ones! I was at the top of my materialistic-happiness and this time I decided not to feel any bad conscience about it. They are something that I've been planning to get for a long time, they are something that I seriously need and they are so god-damn cute!!! I hope this love lasts.

P.S. Mom just told me that her HAI boots in the 70's were yellow too! Wow!
